Memberships

WordPress memberships and courses: sell access, teach, keep the members on your site

Sell access monthly, yearly, once or for good. Lock a whole page, a category, a single block or a file. Renewals run by themselves, reminders go out in time, and the member signs in on your website — not on somebody else's platform with your logo in the corner.

WordPress memberships and courses: sell access, teach, keep the members on your site

Memberships

  • Monthly, yearly, one-off or for good
  • Free plans, paid plans, several at once
  • A trial period, and a joining fee if you want one
  • Renewal by itself, or a reminder before it ends
  • Cancel, end or hand out a membership by hand

Locking content

  • A whole page, or every post in a category
  • A single block inside an otherwise public page
  • A file in the media library, served only to members
  • A teaser for everyone, the rest behind the line
  • What a non-member sees is a page you designed

Courses

  • Lessons with a video, a text and a file
  • A pace you set: one lesson a week, or all at once
  • A quiz at the end, with points to pass
  • Progress per member, visible to both of you
  • A certificate line when the course is done

Members

Who is a member of what, until when.

One screen holds the members with their memberships, their invoices and the courses they are in — and the handles that go with them: cancel a membership, end it today, give one out by hand, extend it by a month for someone who deserves it. Every change leaves its trace, and the mail that goes with it is a template you wrote.

Who is a member of what, until when.
A course is lessons, a pace and a quiz.

Courses

A course is lessons, a pace and a quiz.

Build the lessons with the same blocks as a page — a video at the top, the text below, a worksheet to download. Set the pace: everything at once for people in a hurry, or one lesson a week so nobody skips ahead. At the end a quiz with a pass mark, and points for finishing. What a member has done and what is still open is on both your screens.

The member area

Where a member lands, and stays.

After signing in, a member gets a page of their own: the courses they are in with how far they got, the memberships they hold with the date they run out, their invoices, the posts they saved, and the handles to change their address or their password. It is built from blocks, so it looks like your site — because it is your site.

Invoices, address, password — self-service.

The account

Invoices, address, password — self-service.

Address changes, password changes, a look at what was paid and when: the things that otherwise arrive as an email on a Sunday. A new account confirms its email address before it gets in, and the confirmation mail is a template like all the others.

Questions

Do I need MemberPress, LearnDash or LifterLMS?

No — that is the point of the module. Memberships, locked content and courses are part of ambera, they use the same blocks, the same mail templates and the same customer accounts as the shop, and they are updated with the plugin.

How do members pay?

Through the shop: Stripe, Payrexx with TWINT, PayPal, or against an invoice. A recurring membership renews itself; you can also let a membership run on an invoice you send yourself.

Can I lock only part of a page?

Yes. Any block can be marked for members, so a page can show a public introduction and keep the rest behind the line. What a non-member sees in its place is a block you designed.

Can I give a membership out by hand?

Yes. Assign one to any account, with the term you choose, without a payment — for a partner, a tester or someone who paid you in another way. New accounts can also start with a free plan automatically.

Is this in the free version?

No. Memberships and courses are a Pro module, included in every Pro plan.
