Media
A WordPress media library with folders: search it, crop in it, and the same window everywhere
After two years a website has a thousand pictures and no order at all. This library has folders, a search that also looks at alt texts, and a filter for everything still missing one. Cropping happens in the same window — and that window is the same one everywhere: in the builder, on a product, in a newsletter, in a profile.

Order
- Folders you make and rename yourself
- Drag files in, several at a time
- Search by file name, alt text and folder
- Filters: images, documents, video — or "alt text missing"
- A trash you can take something back out of
On a picture
- Crop and straighten without another program
- Alt text and caption, in every language
- Replace: same address, new picture
- Where the picture is used is written beside it
- Generate a picture, or cut out its background (Pro)
What the server does
- WebP and AVIF beside the original
- A size for every screen
- The first picture of a page first, the rest later
- Stock photo search, straight into the library
- No second plugin for pictures and none for folders
Folders
A thousand pictures, still findable.
The folders are a layer of the theme: the files stay in the WordPress media library and remain findable there, so nothing is lost if ambera ever goes. One folder is "Team", one "Kitchen", one "Old pictures"; whatever is in none of them sits under "Not in a folder", so untidiness stays visible. The search finds a picture by its alt text too.

One picture
Everything about it in one place.
A click opens the details on the right: size, weight, alt text, caption — and the crop, right there, without anyone downloading a file, opening a program and uploading it again. A picture can be replaced without changing its address: every page showing it shows the new one afterwards.
The same window everywhere
Learned once, valid everywhere.
Whoever looks for a picture in the builder gets the same window as on a product in the shop, in a newsletter, in the site header and in a profile — with the same folders and the same search. That is not a detail: it is the difference between a client who swaps a picture himself and one who calls you every time.

Questions
Do I need a folders plugin?
No. The folders are part of ambera, including the free version. They sit as a layer over the media library; the files stay where WordPress expects them.
What happens to the folders if ambera goes?
The files stay in the WordPress media library in full, with alt texts and captions. Only the division into folders stops being visible.
Are the pictures made smaller?
Yes: WordPress makes its sizes, ambera puts WebP and AVIF beside them and serves the right size per screen. A picture straight from a camera is brought down to a sensible edge length on upload.
What is behind the stock photo search?
From a search at providers with a free licence, which loads nothing until you open that screen. The picture lands in your library with its source.
Can my client empty the library?
Only if you let them: Access has a setting for exactly that — uploading yes, deleting no.
